Stuart Ransley hit a superb 137 as Havant beat Normandy by 61 runs to clinch a place in the last 16 of the ECB Royal London national club championships.
He hit a six and 15 fours, sharing a 137-run opening partnership with Pete Hopson (64) as Havant powered their way to 277-4, with both Andy Gorvin (20) and Chris Stone (27) making handy contributions.
Normandy, the 2017 ECB Surrey Championship winners, struck the Havant bowling for a colossal 347-6 in last season’s group final.
But the boot was firmly on the other foot this time as they were pegged to 216-8 (Neal Prowse 52), Cam Prentice taking 3-32 and Richard Hindley 2-22.
At 186-3 and needing only two runs to over haul Peterborough Town’s 188 all out, High Wycombe lost seven wickets for one run – and were bowled out for 187 !
