ROWLEDGE ENJOY SURREY VITALITY UNDER-19 T20 SUCCESS

14/8/2020

Rowledge have their eyes set on a place in the Surrey county Vitality t20 Under-19 Blast finals after winning all three of their qualifying group matches.
Wins over Valley End, Normandy and Guildford have given them a handy lead at the top of their group ahead of next Wednesday teatime’s match against Cranleigh at Church Road.
Max Martin has been prominent with bat and ball.
Results –
Rowledge 134-7 (Baker 33, W Ryman 28, E Martin 27) beat Valley End 92 (Cant 34, Baker 3-9, M Martin 3-23) by 42 runs.
Rowledge 113-3 (M Martin 35, Lereux 29) beat Normandy 109-9 (Holland 26, Jones 24, M Martin 2-9, C Ratcliffe 2-21) by seven wickets.
Rowledge 109-3 (Lereux 44*, Sebborn 22) beat Guildford 105-8 (Greene 50, O Ryman 2-18, Baker 2-20) by seven wickets.
Only 15 clubs have entered the Hampshire t20, disappointingly only two – Hambledon and Portsmouth – from PO postcodes.  Grayshott make up the south-east region group.
2018 county winners Bashley (Rydal), New Milton, Sway & Lymington, and Totton & Eling are in the West region, with Compton & Chandler’s Ford, Fair Oak, Hursley Park and St Cross Symondians battling for supremacy in the Winchester district.
Alton, Hartley Wintney, Hook & Newnham Basics and Oakley face off in the north.
South Wilts play in the Wiltshire competition.
