New Zealander Michael Ruffell is returning for a second season with British Gas Southern Premier League club Gosport Borough, for whom he made 679 Division 3 runs last season.
He is the brother of Kyle Ruffell, who played for Sparsholt in 2015 and again last season.
"Absolutely delighted to welcome him back," said GB chairman Pete Robson. "He could easily have been attracted to play cricket in the north, but we're glad he's returning to Privett Park.
"Mike did a lot of work behind the scenes, particularly with our junior section and guys like him are worth their weight in gold."
On a sad note, Gosport cricket is mourning the death of former Borough chairman Nigel Gravells, who died recently. Nigel was a larger than life character in Borough cricket, spending countless hours at the club. He was heavily involved in the South East Hants Colts League and for several seasons was a results secretary with the Hampshire League. A retired Army officer, he has original links with Rowner cricket.
