The Hampshire Cricket Board is inviting club chairmen and welfare officers to participate in their second annual Safeguarding Forum in the Shaun Udal Suite at the Ageas Bowl on Thursday 14th March 2019, between 6.30-9pm, prior to which a complimentary buffet will be served.
Where clubs do not have a trained welfare officer, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) advises that legal responsibility lies with club executive officers so this invitation is relevant to all chairs of clubs with junior members (i.e. aged under-18 years as at 31 August 2018).
The aim of the forum is to provide additional support for club welfare officers and share the latest developments on safeguarding in cricket direct from ECB.
Jenni Douglas-Todd (director Hampshire Cricket Board, member ECB Regulatory Committee), ECB Safeguarding staff and the County Welfare Officer will provide advice and guidance in this important aspect of club management.
