Sarisbury Athletic aim to become ECB indoor sixes champions for the second time in three years in Sunday’s national championship finals in the MCC Cricket Academy at Lord’s.
Champions in 2015, they are making a third appearance in the national finals in four years.
They won their way through by beating Swindon, St Austell and Bournemouth to top the west qualifying group.
Skipper Matt Journeaux and Ricky Rawlins remain from the Sarisbury six that dominated the indoor finals two years ago, confidently sweeping aside Welsh champions Neyland before beating Flitwick in a one-sided final.
All-rounder Peter Hammond played in the 2013 finals, when Sarisbury were controversially beaten by a ‘made up’ side from Margam, from South Wales.
Hard hitting left-hander Sam Floyd, Josh Hill and the experienced Shayne Freemantle make up the Sarisbury six.
Journeaux, who is suffering with a groin strain, anticipates a far tougher test on Sunday.
Sarisbury are paired against Norfolk Alliance League side Downham Town in the opening semi-final at 11am.
If they win, either Broadstairs or Derbyshire side Spondon await them in the 2.45pm final.
