Sarisbury Athletic are set to host West of England Premier League side North Perrott in the quarter-finals of the Village Cup at Allotment Road on Sunday week, July 21.
While Sarisbury were pulling off a creditable three-wicket win at Cumnor, North Perrott - based near Crewkerne and a Minor Counties Championship venue for Dorset - scrambled through to the last eight with a one-run win at Frocester, courtesy of a run out off the last ball !
North Perrott, who lie mid-table in the WEPL's Premier 2 Gloucestershire/Somerset Division, posted 227, with 16-year old batsman/wicketkeeper Jamie Baird hitting 86. Frocester needed eight runs off the last over, two off the last ball and ended up with two batsmen stranded at the same end (226-9).
The biggest surprise of the last 16 round saw 2018 Lord's winners Folkton & Flixton thrashed by fellow Yorkshiremen Houghton Main.
The quarter-final draw is: Foxton (Cambridgeshire) v Reed, Houghton Main v Egerton, Milford Hall v Astwood Bank, Sarisbury Athletic v North Perrott. Ties to be played on July 21.
