SARISBURY ATHLETIC warmed up for Sunday's National Village Cup quarter-final showdown with North Perrott at Allotment Road (1pm) with a 316-run fest against Southern Premier League Division 1 strugglers New Milton, whom they beat by 98 runs.
Standing (from left): Jordan Wright, Jason Allmark, Chris Sanders, Tom Mills, Tom Nightingale, Dan Clouting. Front: Paul Jewell, Jack Lovett, Sam Floyd, Josh Hill, Sam Hill.
Sarisbury Athletic’s top four batsmen all made fifty-plus scores in the 316-6 run fest against New Milton, the boundary rope being breached 36 times in addition to three sixes.
Sam Floyd (57) and Tom Mills (59) launched the innings with a 136-run stand, which Tom Nightingale (54) and Josh Hill (69) enhanced before Chris Sanders added a handy 35.
Toby Edwards (37) ensured it wasn’t entirely one-way traffic with an eight-boundary blitz on Sanders at the top of the New Milton reply, but after Philip Jewell (3-34) had made inroads into the middle-order it was left to George Watts to spank 71 not out and get the Green & Golds up to 218 (Matt Freeman 32).
