Hampshire teenager Scott Currie took 3-15 and snapped up a catch as England steamrollered Japan for 93 before racing to a nine-wicket win in their ICC Under-19 Plate group quarter-final tie in Kimberley today.
Currie, who was left out of the defeats by the West Indies and Australia which led to England's elimination from the competition proper, had opener Neel Date (7) caught and later returned to take two more wickets (Kento Doubell and Masato Morta) as Japan tumbled from 49-1 to 93 all out.
Warwickshire's Dan Mousley hit an unbeaten half-century as England raced to victory.
