Evergreen Bashley (Rydal) all-rounder Neil Taylor guided Hampshire Seniors to a dramatic one-wicket win over their ECB 50-plus County Championship counterparts Somerset at North Perrott with just five balls to spare.
In a response that mirrored Somerset's 183 all out, Hampshire sagged to 141-7 (their hosts were earlier 142-8) when Taylor joined Fawley's hobbling Andy Parratt, who made 44 despite tweaking a calf muscle.
The pair added a crucial 38 before Hampshire lost two wickets on 179, ;leaving Taylor (who had earlier taken 3-27) to guide Hampshire home with an unbeaten 26 Earlier, Charlie Forward made 31 and Darren Vann 24.
It was Hampshire's third 50s win - next up is the Isle of Wight at Bashley on June 29 - leaving them one point behind Cornwall (13) at the top of the group table.
Hampshire 60s are still searching for their first win after suffering a nine-run defeat to Middlesex at Brentham, here Geoff Beale hit 60 as Hants made 194-8 in response to 203-8 (Rick Marston 3-21).
Next up is Kent at Portsmouth's St Helen's ground on Tuesday (1230), the visitors having beaten Surrey and Middlesex in heir last two outings.
