South African Ximus Du Plooy struck a third successive ECB Southern Premier League half-century for Lymington as Burridge suffered a narrow defeat in one of the few matches to survive the latest batch of dismal summer weather.
Lymington won by seven runs – the second consecutive week Burridge have lost by such a narrow margin.
Du Plooy, who hails from Pretoria and who elder brother Leus plays for Derbyshire, followed up scores of 50 (v Alton) and an unbeaten 58 against the Hampshire Academy by top scoring with 52 as Lymington were bowled out for 173 in one of only two SPL top flight matches to take place.
The 19-year old who played for Northern Titans in South Africa’s provincial cubs tournaments, struck six fours and a six in his 63-ball innings after Burridge opening bowlers Dan Stancliffe (2-31 off eight overs) and Sully White (2-18 off six) had reduced their hosts to 42-3.
White nipped out Dan Cox and Ryan Scott either side of Ben Rogers having his stumps being re-arranged by Stancliffe, who continues to lead the Premier Division bowling charts with 23 poles.
Ben Attrill and Du Plooy added 67, but only vice-captain Josh Royan (31) made an impression with a serious of innovative shots as wickets fell all too regularly – the last three to Brad Griffiths (3-37) - Lymington being grateful for the 28 extras Burridge conceded.

Pinch hitter Azimunnoor Chowdhury (left) pays scant reputations and Matt Metcalfe (0-39 off six) came under fire as the Burridge keeper opened up with both barrels.
But with three of the top five bagging ducks, Burridge fell from 68-1 to 78-5, when Chowdhury (56) was dismissed by the Island duo of Attrill and Cox, having thumped two sixes and seven fours. Cox bowled a tidy 2-29.
Burridge sank deeper into trouble at 118-7 before Will Candy (30) and Sully White (18) added 41 for the eighth wicket to revive hopes.
But just as things were getting interesting with Burridge 159-7, Candy was caught and bowled by James Wade (3-30) and White was bowled by Josh Proctor (2-29) soon after. Duncan Fraser was run out in the 41st over to sentence Burridge to their seventh loss in 10 completed fixtures.
Burridge and Lymington have both only see one SPL match rained off this summer, but other clubs have not been as fortunate.
Havant, for example, have had five of their 11 matches called off due to wet weather - the latest a home encounter with Hampshire Academy. Rock bottom Hook & Newnham Basics are the only other side to have had that many games lost to rain in the top flight.
Havant only lost one game - out of 18 - to bad weather in both 2013 and 2015 and just two each in 2017 and 2018.
