Seven Southern Electric Premier League cricketers have been banned, two clubs deducted points and another heavily fined in a late season disciplinary blitz.
Hartley Wintney captain Jamie Teale will not play again this season or don his whites until mid-May 2016 after receiving a six-game ban imposed by the Premier League.
His suspension follows dissent and abuse of the umpires - while also failing in his responsibility as captain - at Hartley Wintney’s Premier Division 1 derby with Hook & Newnham Basics last weekend, when his side’s attack was hit for a massive 408-4.
Hartley Wintney, already in serious relegation trouble, also had five points deducted for fielding an unregistered player in the same match.
Lymington second teamer Kieran Moors and Totton & Eling’s Gareth Schultze have each been banned for two matches (one suspended) following the Division 3 match between the sides at Southern Gardens on July 25.
Totton have also been docked five points for fielding an unregistered player in the same game, which they lost by 136 runs.
Paul Longland of Old Tauntonians & Romsey has also picked up a two match ban (one suspended) for showing dissent and using foul language in a recent Division 2 game.
Portsmouth have been fined £100 for breaching the SPL’s Club Charter and imposed internal bans on two of their own players, wicketkeeper Alex Hammond and Matt Shaw for ‘inappropriate behaviour following a dismissal’ at a Premier Division 2 match.
A 16-year old all-rounder from a Premier Division One club picked up an internal two-match ban, while another youngster from a separate SPL3 side has been warned about his behaviour.
