Ventnor-raised Adam Hose is poised to sign a two-year contract with Somerset – and could make his debut against Hampshire in Thursday's crucial NatWest t20 Blast showdown under the Ageas Bowl floodlights.
The 22-year old 6’4” right-hander has been trialling at Taunton in recent months and has impressed Head Coach Matthew Maynard. His father Jeff was a prominent all-rounder with Ventnor and Lymington during his playing days.
Hose, who was playing for Ventnor in Southern Electric Premier Division up until 2012, spent three seasons with the MCC YCs at Lord’s before having trials with several First Class counties, including Hampshire. More recently, he has been playing club cricket with Weybridge and High Wycombe.
Ironically, if he makes his debut at the Ageas Bowl, he could well face his old Ventnor team-mate Danny Briggs.
