Trevor Pittman, left, has been awarded Honorary Lifetime Member status after stepping down after a hugely successful eight-year stint as South Wits cricket chairman.
He has been succeeded by former first team captain James Hayward, who (at 31) becomes the youngest Southern Premier League chairman.
"Trevor has been an incredible servant for the club, having previously skippered our Hampshire League sides and, during his period as chairman, overseen a number of development projects at Bemerton," Hayward said.
"He was at the forefront of the refurbishment of the Academy ground pavilion, the three lane practice nets and the two electronic scoreboards, which have combined to make South Wilts one of the nicest places anywhere to play.
"He’s left me a strong club to take over and I am hugely grateful to him. It’s been a pleasure working with him the last 8 years. Let’s hope I’ve learned a thing or two.
"There's lots to do but it’s a challenge that I’m looking forward to getting stuck in to".
Hayward plans to get more players involved on the management committee and helping run and shape the futurer of the Wilton Road club.
"It's going to be a challenge as we face rising costs year on year," he warned
"I'm under no illusions there’s lots to do but will be looking for plenty of support. We will hopefully have some fun along the way with a few events and exhibition games."
