South Wilts all-rounder Jack Mynott made a maiden National Counties Championship century but it was not enough to prevent Oxfordshire winning by four wickets at Bemerton.
Mynott was playing in familiar surroundings at his home club and having passed 50 for the first time in the competition, he pushed on to three figures before he was bowled for 104.
Mynott shared a second wicket partnership of 122 with South Wilts team-mate Jack Stearman (41) which appeared to have taken Wiltshire to the safety of a draw having trailed by 107 after the first innings when Oxfordshire made 204, Bemerton pair Matty Burton (5-73) and Josh Croom (4-41) taking the bowling credits.
But Wiltshire then upped the tempo with captain Ed Young making 49 from 52 balls and Brad Dawson 56 from 42 balls to set up a surprise declaration.
Oxfordshire were set 208 to win in the final session, a challenge they rose to with past Burridge batsman Marcus Campopiano making 86 from 66 balls in his second game for the county.
Dorset suffered a 253-run defeat by champions Berkshire at Finchampstead, where left-armer trio Brad Currie (3-58), James Trodd (3-66) and Ben Fletcher (2-33) took eight of the hosts ten wickets.
But Berkshire’s 301 proved far too many for Dorset, who were skittled for a meagre 86, Bournemouth’s Luke Webb (38) top scoring.
Batting again, Berkshire made 207-8 (Josh Digby 3-81) before bowling Dorset out again for 169, Bournemouth’s Simon Woodruff hitting 59.
