South Wilts created a piece of Southern Electric Premier League history when their second team thrashed Alton II by eight wickets to clinch the Division 3 title. It is the first time a club has ever won two separate championships in the same season, Tom Morton's first team having already clinched a fourth successive Premier Division title. Teenager Will Wade was the hero of South Wilts' win over Alton II (173), taking 4-20 before cracking an unbeaten 103 in the successful run chase. He shared a century second-wicket stand with Ben Draper (40). |
