South Wilts will be laying out the red carpet for a jubilant England Over-60s cricket team, fresh from their two-match “Ashes” victory over their Australian counterparts, at Bemerton on Friday, 11am.
The local Premier League club hosts the third and final Over-Sixties ‘Ashes’ International one-day match, with England already 2-0 up in the Series.
After the 50-over match, the England team will be presented with a replica of the Ashes urn on account of having beaten the ‘old enemy’ at both Blackpool and last weekend Kidderminster.
Basingstoke & North Hants all-rounder Keith Harsham will be in the England team, having scored the winning runs and taken a wicket in each of the two previous games.
Admission to the ODI is free and ample car parking is available at the Wilton Road ground, where refreshments will be on sale throughout the day.
