SOUTHERN ELECTRIC t20 CUP DRAW ANNOUNCED

Dave Banks and several of his current Sarisbury Athletic team-mates will be returning to their old Totton & Eling haunts in the first round of this summer’s Southern Electric twenty20 Cup.

The Premier Division newcomers will make the cross-city trip to Southern Gardens on Sunday June 7, but will face a much changed Eels side skippered by Richard Dibden

Calmore Sports get home advantage against Waterlooville, while the Ageas Bowl Nursery Ground will host the Hampshire Academy’s tie against Bournemouth.

Ventnor face the long haul to Basingstoke & North Hants in what is one of the ties of the round, featuring alongside the Hartley Wintney-Hook & Newnham Basics derby.

Cup holders South Wilts and beaten 2014 finalists Lymington received automatic passports into round two, while Bashley (Rydal) and Havant drew byes.

First round draw: Alton v Liphook & Ripsley, Basingstoke & North Hants v Ventnor, Calmore Sports v Waterlooville, Fawley v Portsmouth, Gosport Borough v Burridge, Hampshire Academy v Bournemouth, Hartley Wintney v Hook & Newnham Basics, New Milton v Langley Manor, Old Tauntonians & Romsey v Sparsholt, Paultons v Andover, St Cross Symondians v Tichborne Park, Totton & Eling v Sarisbury Athletic.

Losing first round sides are eligible to participate in the Plate Competition, the final of which will again be at Totton & Eling’s Southern Gardens on Sunday August 15.
