Skipper Jeremy Frith led the way as Sparsholt edged above Portsmouth and into second place in Southern Premier League Division 1 after a five-wicket win over Andover at London Road.
He took 3-22 with his spin before anchoring the Sparsholt run chase with a watchful 58.
Sparsholt had control of affairs after reducing the Lions to 88-5, a position Charlie Ayers (44) and captain Matt Hooper (32) improved. But a modest 186 was never likely to be enough as Frith (58) underpinned Sparsholt's reply. Michael Haworth (26) featured in a 50-run start, which Ollie Perrin (29) and Dave Banks (26 not out) enhanced.
