Injured Andover opening batsman Ali Hooper turns Lewis Hamilton this morning as he jets inbound and bleary eyed Sri Lankan Under-23 all-rounder Chamika Karunaratne from London Heathrow airport to Havant Park in time for today's opening ECB British Gas Southern Premier League Time Pennant match against wobbling champions Havant.
Karunaratne's plane is due to arrive shortly after breakfast-time, but he'll see little of the Surrey and Hampshire countryside as Hooper rushes him to Havant in time for the 10am warm-up.
"We're absolutely delighted to have Chamika with us at last and hope he gets off to a good start today," Hooper said.
Although Hooper is sidelined with a torn bicep, Andover take the field in a buoyant mood after last week's thrilling victory over Burridge, whereas Havant can ill-afford to lose again, having been beaten twice in four 'white ball' 50-over pennant matches.
* Havant host South Wilts in the ECB Royal London national club championship tomorrow, 1pm.
