St Cross Symondians raised Hampshire all-rounder Felix Organ has agreed to extend his Ageas Bowl contract until the end of next season.
The 22-year old from Winchester made his first-class debut against Middlesex in September 2017 before signing his first professional deal with the county in 2018.
"I'm ecstatic to have another year here and excited to see what I can hopefully bring to the team and how I can improve," Organ said. "I want to be in the team consistently and push to be in the T20 side."
The right-handed batter and off-break bowler made six County Championship appearances last season, scoring more than 200 runs in the lower order and taking eight wickets as Hampshire came close to winning their first title since 1973.
He also impressed in seven One-Day Cup matches, top-scoring with 79 against eventual finalists Durham.
Organ won this past season’s batting award at St Cross Symondians, who finished runners-up to South Wilts in the ECB Southern Premier Division. South African all-rounder Michael Booth, currently studying at Durham University, was top bowler – and recently won a varsity boxing award.
Whitman double
Jason Laney and skipper Dave Orchard scooped the second team batting and bowling awards but St Cross II, who repeatedly lost players to the first XI was relegated.
The Chairman Andrew Burgess congratulated the Ladies First Team on winning the Hampshire Cricket League for the first time in their history as well as the girls second team in winning Division 3.
Schoolmaster Alan Whitman and Murad Hayat carried off the fourth and sixth team batting and bowling prizes, respectively.
Symondians’ fifth and sixth teams each won promotions in the Hampshire League regional divisions.
