ST CROSS SYMONDIANS REACH ECB UNDER-15 FINALS

St Cross Symondians' are through to the ECB Under-15 Championship national finals at Rugby School on Monday week (August 15) after beating Kingsbridge and Beaminster to become South & West region group winners.
After beating Hook & Newnham Basics in the Hampshire final, they comfortably brushed aside Ryde Cavaliers to progress to the regional finals.
The two St Cross matches at Millfield could hardly have been more contrasting.
They shot Kingsbridge out or a feeble 17 (to win by 163 runs) before edging a thrilling two-run win against Dorset champions Beaminster in the final.
Results -
St Cross Symondians 140-5 (Hazitt 42, Ayers 37) beat Ryde Cavaliers 106-5 (Sprengel 36) by 34 runs.
St Cross Symondians 180-7 (Trussler 44, Ayers 35, Nichols 27) beat Kingsbridge 17 (Patten 5-6, Trussler 4-10) by 163 runs.
St Cross Symondians 118-6 (Patten 40, Ayers 28) beat Beaminster 116 (Tryfonos 51, Ayers 3-16, Z Organ 2-16, J Organ 2-22) by two runs.
