Hampshire Seniors’ left-hander Mike Swain, left, was at the forefront of England’s Over-70s ‘Ashes’ veterans cricket triumph over Australia.
He twice top scored – initially with 82 in an eight-wicket win at Diss and then an unbeaten 96 at Burridge – as England won the three-match 50-over series 2-1.
Swain was joined in the England side by Hampshire team-mate Neil Blackey and Chichester Priory Park sportsman Andy Barnes, a 'double international' who has also represented his country at hockey.
