Centuries in successive matches by Dave Steadman reinforced Sway’s second place in Southern Premier Division 3. His 127 at the expense of Basingstoke & North Hants II was followed it up at Whitemoor Lane with 101 in a 51-run win over Paultons.
Sway again started with a stutter. Opener Tim Noble crafted a patient 42 only after Jon Grasham and Will Crossley went cheaply at 8-2, teenager Harman Chandoke (1-39) and Jordie Smith (2-39).
The skipper’s century partnership with Alex Hall 72 then established the base for what turned out to be an assault on the home attack. Sway again notched up 300, finishing on 310-6. The rapidly increasing scoring rate was credit to Steadman’s admirable 13 boundary ton and Hugh Barnard’s 29 minute 46 which included four massive sixes.
The Paultons reply started optimistically enough, although Steadman soon trapped Lee Wateridge lbw. Paul Longland and teenage left-hander Ben Rogers each with 40, Aussie Callum Barton (35) and Simon Ennew (51) looked to take control and kept up with the required rate impressively.
At 245-6, it was left armer Jon Grasham’s 3-36 and Barnard’s pace which steadily applied the brakes. After skipper Ennew departed at 246-7, Paultons fell behind to finish on 259-8.

Langley Manor beat Trojans by 40 runs in a Southern Premier Division 3 match at Knellers Lane which produced three centuries amid its 556-run aggregate.
Steve Harris (left) and Jack Budd hit hundreds for the Manor, with Syed Agha responding for Trojans, who due to injuries to Rahul Bhome and the evergreen Jamie Donaldson were only able to field four recognised bowlers.
Openers Budd and Conor Browne (30) began with a 64-run start, which was extended to 92-2 after 298 overs. It was then the carnage began – the remaining 22 overs of the Manor innings produced 208 runs, with Budd going on to hit two sixes and nine fours in his 107, his second hundred of a 420-run season.
Harris went on to pillage an unbeaten 109 (his third SPL ton), which contained three maximums and 11 fours as Langley Manor advanced to 298-4, the promising Tim Felstead taking 3-57.
Trojans responded with a creditable 258, Syed Agha making 103 (one six and 13 fours) and Ahmad 41. Jamie Browne took 3-43.
The remaining SPL3 match between Basingstoke & North Hants II and South Wilts II was abandoned due to heavy rain soon after tea, with the visitors 14-0 chasing 207, Harith Jayakody hitting 97*.
