Teenage Horsham opener Joe Willis may have etched his name into cricket's bizarre happenings in this week's Sussex Cricket Festival by scoring a century before his partner even got off the mark !
Batting against visitors Horley (157 all out), Willis blazed nine sixes and 11 fours in a blistering 103 off 44 balls before being caught with the Horsham score at 110.
The other seven runs were extras while opening partner Alf Haines remained 0 not out ! He went on to make nine before Horsham won by seven wickets.
Willis almost scored a second century against Middleton, but was dismissed for 95. Middleton won by two wickets.
