Teenage South Wilts all-round talent Matt Falconer has been named Wiltshire Under-14s Cricketer of the Year.
A top order left-hand batsman and right-arm swing bowler, Falconer took 15 wickets in Wiltshire’s five county matches this summer, figures that included a remarkable return of seven wickets for eight runs in a six-over spell against Dorset.
Falconer, who lives in Amesbury, joined South Wilts as a nine-year old and has so far rattled off two centuries, alongside several fifty-plus scores in Bemerton junior cricket.
He dipped his toes into senior cricket this past summer and made his Southern Premier League Cup debut for South Wilts seconds in September.
