Teens Billy Mead and Harry Came each hit an century and later shared six wickets – but neither of the youngsters was able to force a St Cross Symondians victory over Lymington at the Green Jackets Ground.
Mead scored a maiden 115 (19 fours) and Came an unbeaten 104 containing a six and ten fours during a 176-run second-wicket partnership which propelled St Cross to 303-4 declared (Tom Foyle 47).
It left Lymington 60 overs to chase down the target and when Ben Rogers opened with an eight-boundary 44 it seemed a possibility.
Two Came wickets checked their progress and at 89-3 (Dom Hand 29) a draw seemed the likely outcome.
Australian James Grady went on to make 78 not out and with skipper Simon Beetham (42), doubled the score.
Mead’s 3-41 unsettled the middle-order and left Lymington vulnerable at 202-7, but the Queenslander found timely support from Dimitri Adams (18) as the match drifted towards a draw with the visitors 240-8 (Came 3-68).
