TEENAGE TYLER TAMES THE LIONS AS ANDOVER SINK LAST

A potent new ball spell by teenager Tyler Bradley wrecked Andover’s top order and set up a potentially priceless eight-wicket win for Basingstoke & North Hants, who have dragged themselves out of the immediate Southern Premier Division danger zone.
The 19-year old took 4-14 in his eight-over spell as Andover lurched to 40-7 before eventually being dismissed for 117, a total Basingstoke polished off with 17 overs to spare.
Bradley, pictured, who has taken 12 SPL wickets in his past four games, struck four blows in quick succession after Brad Neal had taken a return catch to remove Andover opener Sam Ashman first ball.
Andover, now 32 points adrift at the foot of Premier 1, were reeling at 30-5 by the time Bradley had finished his spell – Laurence Benge picking up two nicks behind and Matt Deadman taking one at mid-wicket and a second, a superb catch on the run at deep mid-on as Richard Taylor (22) went for a big hit.
Andover sank deeper into the mire at 40-7 after Matt Donaldson took 2-24 and it was only due to Brandon Smith (39) and Babu Veettil (16) that they reached 117.
Greg Donaldson (20) got Basingstoke away to a positive start before Ash Neal (34 not out) and Deadman (39) took their reply to 100 when the latter was run out. It was academic after that.
The win, Basingstoke's second in succession after beating Rowledge, lifted the Bountymen to fourth from bottom spot, ahead of Sarisbury Athletic and Andover, who currently occupy the two relegation spots as the halfway point of a rain ravaged season approaches this weekend.
