Teenage duo Archie Fairfax-Ross and Matt Falconer thrived on the responsibility of scoring key middle-order runs after South Wilts suffered another all too familiar top order wobble against Bashley (Rydal) at Bemerton.
They came togther after Jack Stearman (31) and James Degg (26) had produced a 52-run South Wilts start which turned into an uncertain 72-4 - a three-wicket burst by fellow teen Joe Huns (4-22) reshaping proceedings.
Unflustered, Fairfax-Ross hit a patient 47 and Falconer 36, the pair doubling the South Wilts total and more to 172-5 and giving Rob Pitman licence to belt a quick fire 32, including twi sixes and three fours.
Dan Goodey returned 5-40 as South Wilts were dismissed for 195, Will Tripcony clinching on to three catches before the pair opened the Bashley batting.
Bashley's batsmen are not in great nick just now and after Goodey made struck a boundary strewn 56 (46 of them beat the rope) and the promising Finn Gordon 22, they tended to lose their way.
Saif Achakza (42) kept them in the game, but from 155-5 the last five wickets fell for 11 runs and Bashley to 166 all out, Harry Broderick taking 3-7, Tom Lewis 3-42 and Pitman 2-12. South Wilts won by 29 runs.
South Wilts seconds were on the receiving end of a thumping 197-run defeat by their Division 3 counterparts, who piled up 327-4. Nick Partridge made an unbeaten 32 as SW were dismissed for 130.
