Ben Thane hit an unbeaten 66 and shared a 126-run opening partnership with Chris Jolley as Basingstoke & North Hants completed the double over Alton with a convincing nine-wicket win at May’s Bounty.
Basingstoke’s fifth win in six games was done and dusted inside 25 overs as they chased down Alton’s 143 all out.
Dan Harris (29) was among six top order Alton batsmen to make starts before Mitchell Stokes (3-19) began to create inroads and the Brewers lurched to 107-6 and then 143 all out.
Jolley blazed a six and nine fours in a breezy 59, while Thane twice cleared the boundary rope and struck nine other fours in taking his season’s run tally past the 600-mark.
