The spotlight shone on two teenage wicket-keeping centurions as the Hampshire Academy polished off a 265-run target to beat Lymington by five wickets with four overs to spare on the Ageas Bowl Nursery Ground.
South African teenager Gareth Schreuder (pictured above left) celebrated his Lymington debut with a maiden senior century - only to finish on the losing side as George Metzger hit an undefeated 110 to guide the Academy youngsters to victory.
Schreuder, a 19-year old batsman/wicketet-keeper from Hilton College, rescued Lymington from 48-4 with a superb 109 and enjoyed a century eighth wicket stand with Josh Proctor (56) after the New Forest club had tumbled to 134-7 (Mo Abbas 3-43).
But a largely Under-17 Academy side, made relatively short work of the target.
They lost their opening pair cheaply, but Fletcha Middleton (80) and Basingstoke & North Hants raised George Metzger, with an undefeated 110, added 140 to guide the county youngsters to within sight of victory before Matt Metcalfe (3-21) broke the stand.
Hartley Wintney teen Harry Broderick hit 40 to seal the Academy win.
