Spin all-rounder Sam Thomson is knocking on the door for higher recognition in the Bashley (Rydal) batting order after playing a key recovery role in Dorset’s two-wicket win over Wiltshire at North Perrott.
At 37-5 and responding to Wiltshire’s 195, Dorset appeared to slipping to defeat, But with Bashley captain Michael Porter looking on, teammate Thomson made 49 and shared a century partnership with Luke Webb (58) as Dorset turned the game on its head and won with 196-8 on the board, 11 overs remaining.
