James Turner and Ryan Taylor hit centuries as Bashley (Rydal) seconds gave their Southern Premier Division 2 survival prospects an unexpected boost with a victory at Hartley Wintney, where a massive 726 runs were scored and the result in doubt until the closing stages.
Hugo Hammond responded in kind with 139 for Hartley, but finished on the losing side by 18 runs.
Bashley were 18-2 after two strikes by Anthony Parson, but Turner and Sam Stroud (54) added 123 to put the visitors back on track. Turner and Ryan Taylor then sprayed sixes and fours all around the historic Cricket Green, Turner clearing the line five times and Taylor four.
Turner departed at 250, leaving Taylor to complete his maiden SPL century and Austin Andrews made 41 not out. Bashley closed 372-6, their highest SPL total.
