Tom Allam smashed his third century in four knocks – a highest yet 148 not out- as Tichborne Park raced to a nine-wicket win over Southern Premier League Division 2 rivals Langley Manor with ten overs to spare.
Showing no ill-effects from the broken leg he suffered playing soccer last winter, Allam is in the form of his life, having made 131 against Sparsholt and 116 v Totton & Eling in two of his previous three innings.
He took the Manor bowling apart, with two sixes and 19 fours as Tichborne breezed past the visitors’ 224-8 to win with ten overs to spare.
It was Allam’s sixth SPL century – the win lifting them out of the immediate SPL2 danger zone.
Earlier, Steve Harris (54) top scored for the Manor, but will miss Saturday’s home match with Basingstoke & North Hants after breaking his nose in a fielding accident in the following day’s T20 tie with South Wilts.
Conor Browne (44) and Jack Budd (45) narrowly missed out on fifties at the top of the Langley Manor innings.
