South Wilts teenage left-arm pace bowler Josh Croom took 3-20 in his latest South Australia West End Grade match for Glenelg - but his chances of a win bonus for his adopted Adelaide club were dashed by rain.
The 18-year old quick, who is spending a second consecutive winter at Darren Lehmann's Academy, struck twice with the new ball to have winless opponents Prospect wobbling at 23-2 and later took a third wicket to leave the opposition 99-8 when the unseasonal weather intervened. Rain also washed out the scheduled Women's international between Australia and England at the nearby Adelaide Oval.
Play was abandoned after 34 overs, with Glenelg unable to start their innings.
Bowling second change, Croom took 2-46 in the previous week's 22-run defeat by West Torrens. Glenelg lie sixth in the log, 20 points outside the play-off places.
