Bashley (Rydal) are boosted by Tim Taylor’s return for the Southern Premier League Cup West 2/3 visit to Trojans at Stoneham Lane, 12.30.
Normally a first choice all-rounder for Bashley’s Premier Division team, Taylor has been unavailable in recent weeks but is back in the fold to boost the New Forest club’s chances of winning the West region group. They currently lie four points clear of Fair Oak, who are also unbeaten.
James Underwood plays, while leg spinner Ethan Baker and Ben Fletcher both return after making their respective first team debuts at Calmore last weekend.
Bashley (Rydal) II: Lewis, T Taylor, Tripcony, Underwood, Watkins, Achalzai, Parsons, N Taylor, Baker, Fletcher, Bracey.
South Wilts II are keeping their side to visit Fawley under wraps, but Hythe & Dibden will have all-rounder Andy Wakely back for the home match with struggling OTs & Romsey.
Hythe & Dibden: T Richards, T Gates, M Young, A Wakely, S Redford, J Stovell, D Taylor, L Vaughan, A Oliver, M Bowman, T Ndowora.
Teenager Alex Davidson, whose middle-order batting was key to Portsmouth & Southsea’s four-run win at Hambledon last week, misses today’s key Southern Premier League Cup East 2/3 match against Hartley Wintney at St James’s Park, 12.30.
P & S have won both their matches so far, but are only one point above Liphook & Ripsley, who will be looking to put the disappointment of their Village Cup ‘bowl out’ defeat behind them when they visit winless Purbrook.
Portsmouth & Southsea: Davies, M Benfield, Kanavan, Saunders, T Benfield, Briggs, Lee, Peach, Wiley, Turrell, Dunstan.
Hartley Wintney: W Kerr, A Brown, J Mulvey, H Hammond, M Rudd, W Ross, J Teale, J Kerr, D Nightingale, A Parson, D Reynaldo.
It’s touch and go whether the influential Mark Toogood will be fit for Gosport Borough’s match against unchanged Waterlooville at Privett Park.
Top scorer In both his Borough appearances so far, the former RN and US Portsmouth all-rounder suffered a calf strain at Hartley Wintney last week and will leave it as late as possible to see if he is fit to play.
Gosport are out of contention but after three straight wins the Ville could yet pose a significant threat to Portsmouth & Southsea.
Gosport Borough: L Harrop, O Creal, C Pennicott, C Creal, M Toogood, T Larner, S Taylor, G Kitchin, J Richards, S Creal, J Williams, S Prathapasinghe
Waterlooville: Cook, Goddard, Hillman, Hudson, Knight, McBride, Reynolds, Shaw, Shephard, Silva, Verma.
One-time Hampshire left-arm spinner Ian Tufrner had been coaxed out of retirement by Hambledon and was due to play at Tichborne Park - but the Alresford ground was flooded by yesterday’s Biblical storm.
Hambledon: Le Clercq, Pratt, Glanfield, Marshall, Chakrabarti, Moger, Butcher, Pearce, Turner, Restall, Khan.
