Skipper James Hibberd has warned his table topping South Wilts about complacency on the eve of their ECB British Gas Southern Premier League against the Hampshire Academy on the Ageas Bowl Nursery Ground, 11am.
Academy boss James Tomlinson has named an all-teenage side to face the leaders in the last round of Time pennant matches before ‘white ball’ 50-over cricket resumes.
But Hibberd, whose Salisbury side enjoy a somewhat expected 15-point lead at the top, anticipates the fledgling opposition to give his side a tough ride.
“Every game is a tricky one in this league, every side in the league has dangerous players,” he warned.
“They tested us back in May when we lost seven wickets chasing down 186 before we won and I expect more of the same tomorrow.
“Their lads have been playing regularly in Under-17 cricket and a few of them did well at the ESCA Bunbury Festival, where Tom South took a four-fer.
“With last weekend washed out, our lads haven’t picked up a bat for a fortnight so we might be a tad rusty.
Bemerton-raised Miles Kantolinna faces an intriguing test against South Wilts clubmates, while Ageas groundsman Tom Cowley will be anxious to prepare a good batting track – as he’ll be opening the batting on it !

They entertain St Cross Symondians on their spin friendly Havant Park surface before travelling to the Kent’s Beckenham out-ground to play in the NatWest T20 Cup.
The experienced Richard Hindley and Chris Stone both miss the weekend’s action, but Hampshire’s Brad Taylor plays in both games.
Fresh from his Kent Second XI century in midweek, Joe Weatherley (above) plays for St Cross Symondians, who will be captained by Netherlands all-rounder Logan van Beek in the absence of wedding-bound Tom Foyle.
Havant: Walker, Ransley, Gorvin, Taylor, Hopson, Gadd, Bulled, Prentice, Morgan, Matthews, Jerry.

Alton: S Myers, Gonella, Hugo Hammond, Alex Hammond, Mike Heffernan, Mark Heffernan, Jamison, Mortimer, Ballinger.
Teenager Ajeet Dale will become the 21st player this season to wear an Andover shirt when the Lions visit Burridge.
