Tom Alsop has batted himself back into form by twice making impressive scores of 150-plus in Hampshire second team matches against the MCC Young Cricketers on the Ageas Bowl Nursery Ground this week.
He made 154 in the drawn three-day Second XI Championship match and followed it up with an equally superb 152 in the crushing SET 50-over win over the Lord's hopefuls.
Alsop hit 27 fours in his 154 in Hampshire IIs made 402-8 declared (Andy Gorvin 51) before dismissing the MCC YCs for 227, Brad Wheal taking 6-48. They were 182-4 when rain washed out play on day three.
The Wiltshire-raised left-hander then smacked two sixes and 18 fours in his 151 as Hampshire II posted a towering 404-5 in the 50-over match, Lewis McManus (62 and Joe Weatherley (54) weighing in with half-centuries. The MCC YCs were dismissed for 183.
