Tom Morton is back in his favourite position this afternoon – opening the batting for South Wilts !
He wasn’t expected to play at all this season following surgery on a rugby related neck injury, but has recovered quicker than expected and had a run out for the club’s fourth team at Shrewton last weekend.
Today he’s back for South Wilts’ against Calmore Sports in the Southern Premier League Cup at Bemerton, 12.30.
Morton’s role will probably be restricted to that of batting as Ben Draper, despite an injured typing finger, will continue to captain the side and keep wicket.
South Wilts also give a first team debut to teenage off-spinner Tom Lewis, who took five wickets for the Salisbury club’s second team against Hythe & Dibden last weekend, and Millfield’s George Edwards.
