Hartley Wintney groomed Will Phillips has been appointed to skipper 2018 champions Richmond in the ECB Middlesex County Premier League next season.
With 716 runs, including seven fifties, Phillips finished third in the Middlesex CPL batting averages this summer, having helped the Old Deer Park club lift the title in his previous debut season.
Phillips, who weighed in with a handy 11 wickets, cut his teeth in recreational cricket locally with Hartley Wintney, before moving on to play at Alton and Basingstoke & North Hants while he was studying at Durham University.
Havant raised Robert Gibson will be Phillips’s on-field adviser as Richmond bid to regain their crown from 2019 winners North Middlesex.
