Totton & Eling have signed talented South African teenager Josh Elliott as their overseas player in the ECB Southern Premier League this coming season.
It will be Elliott's second consecutive summer in the UK, the Johannesburg raised all-rounder having enjoyed an outstanding season with third placed Colchester & East Essex in the ECB Essex Premier League in 2022.
He made seven fifty-plus scores in his 721-run aggregate and took 19 wickets. He also excelled in the North Essex Sunday League.
Elliott hails from St Stithians College and plays for the WITS university side in the powerful Gauteng Premier League, where he is coached by former Ventnor & Hambledon all-rounder Nono Pongolo, who described him as "as a good player, one of these modern and dynamic type cricketers. He prefers positions 4 and 5 in the batting order."
Elliott's arrival at Southern Gardens on Monday coincides with Totton having signed several as yet unnamed Team Solent university players.
