Teenage Totton & Eling all-rounder cricketer Ethan Taylor, sporting a sharp new ‘basin’ style haircut, let his football boots do the talking by scoring all four goals as Southampton-based Itchen College beat their Brighton & Hove counterparts 4-1 to progress to the quarter-finals of the English Schools Under-18 Trophy.
Itchen fell behind in the first half, but Taylor scored twice either side of half-time to secure a 4-1 victory and clinch a last eight place for his side. Itchen travel to Street (Somerset) to play Strode College in the quarter-finals.
Ethan, eldest son of James Taylor, scored 331 runs (including two half-centuries) and took 21 wickets for Totton & Eling in SPL2 last summer.
