Dan Moore hit 84 and Tom Dyer celebrated a five-wicket return as Hook & Newnham Basics seconds celebrated a morale boosting 52-run win over St Cross Symondians II at the KGV.
Moore, who hit seven fours, was last man out, having built his innings on earlier contributions by teenager Alex Corbett (42) and Charlie Neville (27). Two early strikes by Olli May had St Cross on the back foot. Charlie Harden (44), Jake Nichols (31) and 50s gloveman Richard Wilson (26) made their marks before Dyer wiped out the lower order with a jug purchasing 5-28 haul.
