Spinner Kieran Geyle took six wickets for seven runs in 24 deliveries as Totton & Eling celebrated Southern Premier League Division 2 survival with a thumping win over relegated Trojans at Stoneham Lane.
Trojans were ticking along at 81-3 (Nigel le Bas 41) when Geyle came on to bowl – his spell prompting a massive collapse which saw the last seven wickets fall for 21 runs and the side dismissed for 102.
Oli Perrin (35) and Oli Thomas (31) pointed Totton towards an easy eight-wicket win – and safety !
Relegated alongside Trojans – and demoted for the second consecutive season - are Tichborne Park, who lost by four runs at Waterlooville.
Queenslander Ryan Brooks (78) did his best as Tichborne finished with 177 all out, chasing the Ville’s 181-8.
Conor Browne is within sight of 600 runs for the season after hitting 82 in Langley Manor’s six-wicket win over resurgent Paultons at Knellers Lane.
Half-centuries by Julian Drake (54) and later Tony Richman (51) helped Paultons reach 248-6 (Cam Grierson 41).
But with Browne leading the way – he only needs 13 more runs from Saturday’s visit to relegated Tichborne Park to reach his 600 – the Manor romped it with time to spare. Steve Harris (43), Elliot Ponting (37) and Graham Noble (35) played key support roles.
