Hampshire have dropped to third place in the Seevent Over-60s county championship after a comprehensive 81-run defeat by Hertfordshire.
They now lag ten points behind Kent, the current group leaders, who beat Hampshire by seven wickets at Warnford last month.
Hampshire need to win at Gravesend on Tuesday to enhance their prospects of a home tie in the national phase of the competition, which begins next month.
