Bramshaw's Voneus Village Cup adventures are over after an eight-wicket defeat by Calmore Sports in Sunday's replayed Hampshire county final at Loperwood Park.
The little New Forest club, who knocked out Southern Premier League clubs Paultons and Sparsholt in two of the previous rounds, were forced to concede home advantage when last Sunday's original final was abandoned due to heavy rain.
They began brightly enough with Tom Arnold (36) and Simon Booth (47) taking them to 60-1 before three wickets fell in quick succession. They rallied in the middle-order, but with spin trio Liam Carty, Mark Lavelle and Ben Perry each taking two wickets, they had to be content with 177 all out.
Ben Johns (40) and Michael Cook (28) provided Calmore with a useful platform, which Matty Taylor (51*) and Shawn Johnson (43*) improved upon to guide the cup holders home with eight overs to spare.
The final was watched by a contingent of players from Oxford Downs, the Home Counties Premier Division 1 club, who will visit Calmore Sports in the opening national round on Sunday June 19 (1pm).
