Calmore Sports are through to the final of the national Village Cup for the second season running.
Triumphant in last September’s Lord’s final, they crushed the Cambridgeshire side Foxton Granta by seven wickets in yesterday’s semi-final at Loperwood Park.
Calmore produced an outstanding display in the field to restrict Foxton to 183 for 8 off 40 overs. Ben Perry took 4 wickets and skipper Mark Lavelle 3.
Left-hander Ben Johns took centre stage after that, hitting a superb 95 to take Calmore to the brink of victory. Opening partner Will Brewster made 40.
