Tichborne Park will be anxiously checking the London Gatwick flight arrivals board as they await key all-rounder Tom Allam’s scheduled early Sunday morning return from Corfu in time to play in the afternoon's Davidstow Village Cup county final against Hambledon.
Allam is expected back at Tichborne in time for the 1pm start, but club officials are concerned that flight delays could force a late change to their line-up. Hambledon, county winners twice in recent seasons, include three sets of brothers in their side.

Hampshire League side Parley have a huge mountain to climb if they are to qualify for the national phase. They face an away tie in the Dorset/Wiltshire county final against Goatacre, past Lord’s winners, who reached last year’s semi-finals, knocking Parley out at the corresponding stage. Parley field a strong side but are handicapped by an injury to spin bowler Oli Green.
