Hambledon against Sparsholt and Tichborne Park versus Hursley Park – that’s the line-up for next weekend’s Spring Bank Holiday Sunday National Village Cup county semi-finals.
Both Hambledon and Sparsholt got second round walkovers when Eversley and Godshill withdrew.
Paul Marks hit an unbeaten 125 as Hursley Park piled up a massive 287-4 against Follands at Hamble.
He enjoyed a substantial partnership with Joe Theobald (81) as Hursley batted Follands out of the game.
Craig Proctor hit 70 as Follands made 179 in reply, Sam Gee taking 3-57 and Matt Oliver and Tom Flynn two wickets each.
Tichborne’s James Long (4-22) made early inroads to leave Langley Manor 47-5 before Jamie Brown (55) and Elliott Ponting (36) came together.
Tom Allam and young leggie Tom Essex took two wickets each before the Manor shut at 148 all out.
George Ayling smashed 40 off 22 balls to get Tichborne’s reply off to a flying start.
After Ayling was caught on the boundary, Ed Primmer brought some class to the proceedings with an unbeaten 70 which eased Park home.
Roshan Embalagana (108) and Sam Collins (77) went on a run spree as Parley rattled up 252-5 before bowling Burbage and Easton Royal out for 110, Alex Nippard taking 3-18.
Parley now host Shrewton, who beat Horningsham (128) by 108 runs.
Steve Brewer, with 47 and a 5-21 return, had a fine game for Shrewton, whose 236-9 saw Will Sleeman (53) and Rich Barnett (45) make runs.
Redlynch & Hale have the dubious pleasure of visiting group favourites Goatacre after at 15-run win at Chippenham-based Lacock.
A strong top order display saw Dave Webber (50), Ian Turner (38), Andy Souter (39) and Jon Hatchett (37) guide R & H to 222-7 – a total Lacock were unable to better.
