Liphook & Ripsley and Rowledge look to have their hands full today (Sunday) if they are to progress to the National Village Cup quarter-finals.
Liphook host Cherwell League pace setters Oxford Downs at Ripsley Park, while Rowledge take on high riding Sussex League Division 2 side Mayfield at Church Road, both 40 overs per side starting at 1pm.
Liphook powered past Thames Valley League leaders Cookham Dean last time out and will need a similar pacey new-ball blast from Suman Ganguly if they are to progress against Oxford Downs, for whom skipper George Sandbach (508) and Adam Beck (392) have been prolific with the bat this season and 25-wicket Harry Sutton with the ball.
Liphook: Ryan Covey, Rob Nicklin, Harry Munt, Suman Ganguly, Grant Rouse, George Neave, Ric Williams, Gabe Broadhurst, Sean Burton, Charles Janczur, Dave Elliot.
Rowledge selectors raised a few eyebrows when they left Hampshire Sixties star Chris Yates (pictured by Farnham Herald above) out of the starting line up against Mayfield, who lie second behind Three Bridges in Sussex League Division 2.
Mayfield are led by former CCC representative player Jason Finch (whose son Harry plays for Sussex), with Steve Allen their lead wicket-taker.
Rowledge: Jo Randall, Ben Wish, Jake Wish, Steve Plater, Sam Moseley, David Lloyd, Steve Martin, Mike Martin, Will Ryman, Ricky Yates, Ollie Baker.
Spectators planning to go to either match will be delighted to know that admission is free, ample car parking is available and licensed bars will be open throughout the match. Sounds perfect !
