Teenager Joshua Banks-Williams celebrated his maiden adult fifty as Sparsholt powered into the county semi-finals of the Voneus Village Cup with a convincing 135-run win over Hursley Park at The Quarters.
Williams hit 51 and shared a century fourth-wicket stand with Liam Doran (69) as Sparsholt built on the sound start by Lewis Mitchard (39) and Stuart Taylor (28) to post 241-5 (Tim Vokes 25 not out).
Then fellow teenager Tom Ley (2-14) struck two decisive blows by clean bowling Tim Bacon and Andy Spink, the former Berkshire Minor Counties batsman, for ducks as Hursley crumbled to 106 all out (Richard O’Brien 42). Williams, Dave Banks and Dan Weir each took two wickets.
